Why donate clothing to Smart Works
Transform the lives of
unemployed women
Your donated workwear items help our clients feel confident and look their best at a crucial moment in their lives.

Any items that we resell at our fashion sales raise vital funds for us to keep delivering our service to unemployed women in communities where our help is needed the most.
Give your items a new lease of life
Passing your preloved clothes and accessories on to our clients helps reduce the environmental footprint of the textile industry.

By donating your items to Smart Works, you help us transform the lives of unemployed women using the power of sustainable style.
Declutter with a purpose
Feel lighter and brighter by clearing out your wardrobe before the start of a new season or as a mindful activity.

Donating your items to Smart Works could be a wonderful opportunity to give your pre-loved clothes a new life and help an unemployed woman unlock her confidence, while helping you feel refreshed and inspired.
Items we can accept
Work-appropriate clothing
We actively welcome donations of pre-loved, high-quality workwear items, such as trousers, skirts, suits, dresses, shirts, and outerwear.
Shoes and bags
We are always in need of interview-appropriate shoes and bags for our clients as these items are the hardest to source.
Preloved items with resale value
We are happy to accept pieces that are not suitable for the workplace but could be resold at one of our fashion sales to raise vital funds for Smart Works.

We are currently in particular need of the following pieces:

Flat black shoes
Clothing UK size 12 and above
Interview-appropriate bag
Winter coat
Items we cannot accept
We can’t accept used or opened cosmetics, underwear or tights to ensure that we comply with health and safety regulations.
Before you donate, please check that all your pieces are still in wearable condition and ready for their new lease of life.
