The theme, Her Sense of Purpose, is a celebration of the many motivations, be it personal, professional or a passion that shape who we are, and drive the impact we make as a community.

About us

Smart Works North East is a charity that exists to empower all women who need help getting into work. We use the power of high quality clothing and one-to-one coaching to help unemployed women fulfil their potential, get the job and transform their lives. In 2025 we supported over 750 women into work. Women are referred to us by job centres, employment schemes, shelters, mental health charities and many other places. After visiting Smart Works North East, 68% of clients secure a job within a month of their appointment, gaining financial independence and transforming their lives.
