👉Why did you apply to be a volunteer?
“I came across Smart Works Newcastle on Instagram and knew straight away it was an organisation I would like to be involved with. The worthwhile work they do to boost the self-esteem of North East women and support them into employment is amazing. From the clients to trustees, the staff and other volunteers, everyone is so friendly and welcoming.”
👉What do you enjoy about volunteering?
“I’m self-employed and work from home which can be isolating at times, so I love volunteering because it gives me the chance to be part of a team and meet new people.”
👉 What would you say to someone thinking of volunteering with us?
“In my role as a stylist, I support clients to find an outfit they feel comfortable and confident in for their interview. It makes my day when I receive an email to say that someone I’ve helped has got the job! I 100% recommend Smart Works Newcastle to anyone thinking about volunteering.”
