We were joined by friends of Smart Works North East to celebrate ahead of International Day of the Girl.

Our wonderful Outreach Lead, Ruby, shared about her experience presenting to Alan Milburn MP as part of research informing the Milburn Review, an ongoing investigation into youth unemployment across the UK. She spoke about the support that Smart Works North East provides for young people not in education, employment or training, as they face challenges in their job search.

39% of the clients that Smart Works North East have supported in the last year have been under the age of 25. Young people continue to be a priority in our strategy, as we recognise it is a ‘lack of opportunity and not a matter of attitude’.
