We recently partnered with leading retail destination in the heart of Newcastle, Eldon Square. This collaboration spotlights their commitment to supporting local causes, with a particular focus on empowering women in our community.
As part of this partnership, Eldon Square has pledged donate $5,000 to Smart Works Newcastle. This contribution will support our mission to help unemployed women in the North East build confidence, overcome barriers to employment, and prepare for job interviews through coaching and access to high-quality, professional workwear.
In addition to the financial donation, Eldon Square will be supplying workwear essentials hand-picked by our volunteer stylist Sarah and Service Delivery Assistant Diane in collaboration with John Lewis & Partners at Eldon Square. This carefully curated selection of Autumn/Winter professional wear, including blazers, flat shoes, and handbags, ensures that women can attend interviews with confidence, ready to take on new opportunities.
Eldon Square’s support comes at a crucial time. As Helen Boyd, Centre Manager of Smart Works Newcastle, explains, “The northeast has some of the highest unemployment rates for women in the country, and both interview clothing and confidence are significant barriers. We’re so grateful to Eldon Square for the incredible new additions to our wardrobe, which will help transform women’s lives.”
Olivia Telfer, Marketing Manager at Eldon Square, shares, “We’re thrilled to partner with Smart Works Newcastle in their vital mission. Our £5,000 donation and workwear contributions directly support women in our community, helping them gain the confidence to succeed.”
Together, Eldon Square and Smart Works Newcastle are setting an example of how partnerships can drive real change, supporting women as they step into brighter futures with renewed confidence.
