Smart Works Newcastle is calling on supporters, both corporates and individuals to sign up to its annual fundraising challenge, Cycle for Smart Works.
The charity is encouraging people from across the North East to get on their bikes, raise vital funds and pedal for a purpose.
Riders who take on the challenge will take part in teams of five and cycle a collective 500 miles, starting on the 1st March and finishing on the 8th March 2022 – International Women’s Day. The money raised will support the charity’s mission: empowering unemployed women with the clothing, coaching and confidence they need to succeed at interview, get the job and transform their lives.
Over the last five years, Smart Works Cyclists nationally have pedalled a grand total of 500,000 miles and raised over £500,000. With the need for the Smart Works service greater than ever before, the charity wants this to be the biggest fundraiser ever, with more riders, more miles and more money raised.
100% of the money raised will help the charity to support women into employment, enabling them to gain financial independence and start a new chapter. Every rider will play a part in a woman’s success story.
Sign-ups for this event are now open, so please visit www.cycleforsmartworks.org.uk click ‘sign up’, choose Newcastle as the centre you wish to fundraise for, and register.
