Work experience for young North East women image

On Wednesday 13th July we ran our 10th Work Experience day alongside The Girls Network and Bede Academy (North).

Throughout the day the girls (aged 16-18) engaged with a range of stock, scenario and marketing tasks. In only 4 hours the girls had gained a number of transferable skills to add to their CV including teamwork, communication, visual merchandising and organisation. All attendees also had a one-to-one coaching session with our volunteer coach Heather, where they could discuss confidence, career plans and job application advice.

Hannah Coffey, Fundraising and Partnership Lead said “We had a brilliant day hosting the girls, and we were all blown away by their creativity and how they engaged so enthusiastically in each task. It’s a privilege to spend a day with the girls, I hope they learned some things from us, and I certainly learned a lot from them.”.

See the brilliant visual merchandising and photography skills showcased by the girls below. (All photos taken by Bede Academy students).
